Every chemical product on this site carries the figures its manufacturer publishes: dilution ratio, pH, coverage, working time, and the physical specifications that apply — gsm for microfibre, throw for a polisher, bar and flow for a pressure washer.
What we publish and where it comes from
The figures on a product page are extracted from manufacturer and distributor technical documentation for that exact product and size. Where a figure is not published, the field is absent rather than estimated. An empty field means “not published”, never “not applicable”.
You will find the specifications in the Specifications section of every product page, stacked below the buying area. They are not behind a tab, because a tab is a place to put things you would rather people did not read.
Manufacturer documentation
Technical and safety data sheets are the manufacturer’s documents, and they are maintained by the manufacturer. Rather than host copies that go stale, we point at the source. Each brand page links to that brand’s own documentation where the manufacturer maintains a public library.
For a Safety Data Sheet on a specific product — required for any commercial premises storing chemicals under WHMIS — request it against the SKU and we will source the current revision from the manufacturer. Product SKUs are on every product page in the specification block.
Reading the common figures
Dilution ratio. Written 1:10 or 1:500. One part product to that many parts water. This is the number that determines cost per use, and it is why a $60 concentrate can be cheaper per wash than a $25 ready-to-use bottle.
pH. Neutral is 7. A neutral shampoo is safe over a cured coating. Anything alkaline strips wax and sealant, which is what you want before correction and not what you want afterwards.
Coverage. Square metres per unit, for coatings. A typical mid-size sedan is roughly 10–12 m² of paint.
Working time. For coatings, the flash-off window between application and levelling. Miss it and you have high spots that need machine polishing to remove.
GSM and blend. For microfibre: weight per square metre, and the polyester-to-polyamide ratio. See the Glossary.
