GSM is weight per square metre — roughly, how much water it holds. 300–400 is a general buffing towel; 900+ is a drying towel.
Blend is polyester to polyamide. 80/20 is the common general-purpose ratio; 70/30 is softer and more absorbent and costs more.
Edge matters more than either. A sewn edge is the most common source of towel-induced marring. Edgeless or silk-banded for anything touching paint.
Wash separately, no fabric softener ever, and dry low or air-dry.
