A filtered blower removes the water hiding in mirror housings, badges, grilles and wheel faces that reappears as a run five minutes after the car looks dry. It also dries without touching the paint at all, which is the only genuinely zero-marring drying method.
Compressed air will do the same job only with an oil separator and a dryer in line; without those you are putting compressor oil onto clean paint.
