SCANGRIP is a Danish lighting manufacturer, and it is on this shelf for one reason: you cannot correct paint you cannot see. SUNMATCH, MULTIMATCH and UNIMATCH are colour-tunable LED lamps designed for paint inspection, with adjustable colour temperature so defects that hide at 4000K show at 6500K.
The specification that matters is CRI, and SCANGRIP publishes it. A high-CRI tunable light will show holograms, pigtails and residual haze that a work light simply does not render, which means less time chasing defects and less risk of handing a car back with correction still in it.
The lights are expensive for what they physically are, and there is no way around that. The alternative is finishing a car in the bay and discovering the truth in daylight.
