Dashboards, door cards and vinyl want the mildest chemistry in the car and the most careful finish. Two constraints govern the choice.
First, gloss is a safety issue. A shiny dash reflects into the windscreen in low sun. Matte finishes are the correct default, not an aesthetic preference.
Second, UV is what actually destroys a dash. Cracking and fading come from ultraviolet exposure, so the useful products are the ones with real UV absorbers, not the ones that look wet on day one.
